Hey everyone!
I’m Aniah Quinn, a future veterinarian, 13-year-old certified dog trainer, and CEO of Tricks for Treats Dog Training, an online dog training school.
Having been an entrepreneur since age three, I ran Ziggy and Tootie Cakes for eight years. But my rescue dog put me on a new path.
I grew up with Beau, visiting him at my grandmother’s, but I slowly noticed his unideal lifestyle. Even worse, Beau’s behavior problems had my grandmother considering surrendering him to the shelter.
After a trip to my grandmother’s, I decided to take him home for a week. But she and I agreed that Beau did deserve better, and that he would stay with me.
Through my experience rescuing Beau, I had only faced what happens when you don’t change the way you train. Now I was facing what could happen when you DO.
As the first in my family to train with new methods, my training journey was a bit different than what I expected. My family and I had mixed ideas on using punishments or positive reinforcement.
But I kept training, and eventually became a certified dog trainer. But that didn’t mean the journey was over.
My family and I are still changing the way we train, together.
I’ve seen what happens when you don’t change the way you train, and had to do such myself. But could I teach the next generation how to do the same?
With some dog training determination and a few woofs, absolutely.
I created Tricks for Treats Dog Training to help young dog owners change the way they train, and understand why they’re doing so.
Are you ready to change the way you train?
